Over 250 club challenge

Looks like the group on the weigh in site is at capacity. Below are my stats for the first week and the plan I am using.

Starting Weight on January 2 : 352 lbs
Goal Weight : Under 280 by next hunting season so I can hunt from a saddle
My first weight will be on 1/11

Cardio : 1 mile every day, working on building up speed and endurance. Down to a 13 minute mile by alternating jogging and walking for 1 minute each.

Weights: Single Kettlebell workout using a 35 lb kettle bell three days a week (workout below)
Kettlebell Deadlift : 5 sets x 5 Reps
Turkish Get Up: 5 Sets x 1 Rep (each side) ***Using a 15 lb weight for this exercise now
Kettlebell Swing: 5 Sets x 10 Reps
Goblet Squat: 5 Sets x 5 Reps

DDPY Yoga: Three days a week. Doing this to help with flexibility and muscle soreness.

Diet: For the month of January I am doing the carnivore diet but will be transitioning to the keto diet starting Feb 1st.
Fasting schedule: A mix of OMAD or an 18 hour fast with two meals

So I have never hunted from a saddle before but will be buying one this spring and banking on losing the weight before hunting season. Last year I weighed 407 lbs so I have already lost over 50lbs by just using some fasting and keto off and on.
keep it going you're doing great

It’s been slow start for me still at 331.

If I can still get in, I'll go with it. 6' tall 250# yesterday. Not sure how I missed this thread for 2 months, but. Here I am. I'd love to get back to 220-225.

How's everyone doing so far? I plan to give a progress update twice a month to help hold myself accountable.

SW on 1/2/2019 : 352
CW on 1/13/2019 : 339 (I think most of this is water weight)

Diet : Has been really good with no cheats except a dark chocolate bar this past Saturday night.

Exercise : I've been pretty consistent with getting in a mile a day except for a few days over the weekend. I've been slacking on the kettlebell and yoga workouts with only doing one each.

For the rest of the month I'm going to try and make sure I do at least something everyday, even if its just getting up for a break and walking outside for 10 minutes. I want to keep the diet clean except for a planned B-day dinner for the wife.

Everyone keep up the hard work.

So far so good! Ill be posting good a good number this week. The wife is now in the game, so that helps A LOT. 2 weeks with very low carbs. Been doing KETO for the most part, with limited fat...but more than I probably should have. I get the Chelesterol numbers today to see if I need to adjust fire away from fats, introduce a few more carbs. Gonna stay with high protien. I can now look chocolate cake right in its dead cold eyes and say "nope!". Ive also been keeping up with my "8000 steps" every day and weights 3 days a week. Next week I bump up to 10,000 steps a day and bump weights up to 50% of my max, 3 sets of 8 (I hope).

I reallt am looking at a lifestyle change and no carbs just isnt realistic for me. So far so good, but at some point im going to have break myself back into them. Simple carbs only and gonna keep on staying away from processed food and sugar.

You totally did it, didn't you sir! ;)

Sorry yall. Thing is, I misread the title of the thread to begin with. Thought it was motivation for weigh loss in general, not just for 250lbs+.

Since @always89y called me out by name though... I'm 36, 5' 8", and 141.8lbs (on 7 JAN) :)

I appreciate the callout! When i started out i had trouble navigating the website so i figured id come back to it and never did. Since i was called out by name i put in the time and figured it out (which honestly wasnt hard). thanks for the motivation @always89y!

I realize I never 'joined'. Can I still get in? I need some motivation in my life. Anyone have $1,000 to throw in as the reward?

The holidays weren't good. Everyone was giving me nuts, cookies, and other misc. goodies. They must have thought I was looking a little slim.
I usually weigh on Monday mornings.
Jan 1st 294.3
Jan 13th 287.5
This past week has been my biggest effort so far. I have only had 1 soda in over a week and no bread, except for tonight. I had to have a small piece of my wife's pizza.
Must resist the pizza. LOL

Had to add, last week the wife made homemade mac & cheese. This stuff is hard to resist.

I’ll weigh in the am. Started back going to CrossFit last week :rolleyes:

Dang it. I knew i forgot something. And this is why. +2.

Stress eating. Family drama around an upcoming wedding.

But back on plan this week.

Is it too late to get in on this? Jan 1 2019 I weighed 315 pounds started keto and at the begging of my deer season I was at my high school football playing weight (236lbs) I have not been watching what I eat very closely since mid October. Jan 1, 2020 i was 257 right this morning I was 250. When I lost my Initial weight I got back into riding quads and bikes. Ive redone a couple bikes and decided I’m going to run in a local gncc/ hare scramble racing series this year. I’ve been building a Yamaha banshee and hoping this endurance racing will push me to reach my ideal weight 200-215 pounds. I had great success on keto and due to effects and lack of appetite I was also doing intermittent fasting.

It’s all good. There are ups and downs even when we do everything we are supposed to do. Some weeks are going to be better than others. Just think about next hunting season. I’m already scouting/squirrel hunting getting ready for next hunting season.
