I think the key is to treat gear for very short periods of time and don't store stuff in an O3 environment.I had a different experience with my Scent Crusher bag. It wrecked all my zippers. It also had a very strong odor. I use a scent lok coverall and baselayers, but the Scent Crusher bag just damaged my stuff and it was First Lite Gear and not trash.
I normally treat my clothing/boots for the day for 10-20 minutes in the morning while I am showering. Then I'm dressing less than an hour later and it airs out quickly. I see no need to store stuff for days in ozone or treat it for more than a few minutes. Actually, if its freshly laundered clothing, it shouldn't need ozone at all. O3s greatest benefit is for stuff we can't easily wash like boots (inside and out), bows, packs, and interiors of vehicles.
And its not a magic bullet. Its just one piece of the puzzle to reduce odor. I still try to hunt the wind but in hill country that ain't so easy.
