Great buck! Congrats on it and your first saddle kill. I like the Transformer too.

Still thinking about getting him back , can’t wait I’ll share a pic when he’s back home and on the wall. Have a few cams up now getting ready to go after his buddy from last year !

So you mentioned in a few posts back that you had been after that buck for three years and finally figured him out. Can you explain your process? I think there’s some great information to glean from that.

I own 5 acres , I’ve killed 2 bucks in the past 4 years of me living at our house. I have 3 cameras on my land and I would get pics of him every year pretty much at dark/ nocturnal status end of October . I probably have put 40 to 50 hours in a Stand at my place and never saw him . I think last year i just got to the point of I’m sick of walking in the same spot burning the same stand location and “hoping” for the best. Last June I went into an area where I saw a giant scrape the year before in gun season. I thought he has to be hittin this scrape and when I went in to see if I had signal on the cam I pushed him out. From there on I stayed out of that area and focused on my pics. Every day I would get them and he would come past my cam right before dark. I then set another camera where I thought he was coming from . Our season opener is oct 2 or whatever that first Saturday is in October . I went in at 230 set my sticks and hunted out of my saddle and at 630 I killed that buck at 12 yrds. I am a realist and will say this every day of the week. That was all luck , I did my homework and I learned a tremendous amount in the past year but I can say for him to be there at that time and for me to be able to shoot him at 12 yards with my compound pull back keep composure is all luck
