Pac Seat Review

Does the length of the pac seat cause any problems when walking in? I remember my summit climber was long and would trip me all the time

No. Maybe twice in 3 seasons I've snagged a tennis ball on the leg in vines and brush or bumped the leg as I climbed over a fallen tree. You don't notice it walking at all.

The turkey versions shorter legs completely eliminate what is a non-issue already, if that makes sense.

Got out today with my pac seat and I’m glad I didn’t part ways with it.
I like using it to pack my bow on long walks in

That's slick enough I may just go packless unless I've got to carry layers.

Yeah I’m thinking if I need layers when it starts to cool off as the season goes I’ll just bungee them on over the bow.
I got lucky it seems this bow is a perfect size for it but I’m sure it will carry many others just as well.
Kind of nice having everything together and just grabbing a chair and hitting the woods.

I picked one up at the new price, $275 shipped, and was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived a week later. As to whether it's worth it, I'll be in a better position to comment at the end of the season. In the meantime, I plan on adding some vet tape to the lower legs which might come in contact with brush while being transported. It's another tool in toolbox.

Ordered and arrived in 3 days.

On the first sit on it the webbing on the back of the seat makes noise if I move. What’s the remedy?

Furniture spray wax is what he recommends in his letter I believe.

In the letter in the envelope that has IMPORTANT in big caps on the front??? Yea I haven’t opened it yet. I usually do that when it doesn’t work and I have a few bolts left over.

Lol. He actually has some good stuff in that letter. Really thorough. But I know what you mean.

Hadn't been here in a while so when i saw a review of David's PacSeat I had to go along for the ride. I've had mine now for about 2 seasons. I hang with a bunch of GA trad shooters and a bunch of them fellas told me it was a good seat. I think I saw one of nutters youtubes with it as well. I'm a relatively new hunter, 4th season and I have never killed anything out of a stand. Ground blinds or just on the ground or in the seat.

I have not had a single problem with the pacseat. I use it for long hike in mountain hunts where I am highly unlikely to hang a stand and prefer the ground hunt with a ghillie and the ability to move, a lot, to find the few game animals that roam the areas I hunt. I actually had a bear brush up against my ghillie late last season, after I'd tagged out on bears.

I've attached some cheap backpack to it very easily and in that I have a water bladder and various other things a fella might need in the woods for a day of hunting. I have hauled off two black bears and one time I hauled off two deer, quartered up, at the same time with this. The one and only complaint I have about this thing so far is that the backpack straps are abysmal for a pac. They are just two layers of wider webbing and with a 100 pounds back there... they dig in real nice!

I am glad to hear they are expanding and growing and that they stand behind their product. I've never had to contact customer service, but glad to know they are legit.

Also, I have heard of guys wearing the system backwards if they kill something and simply using the seat as a makeshift shelf, I haven't tried it, but it sounds like it could work. But if you have half dozen decent webbing straps and some game bags... you going to be alright getting that stuff off the mountain.

I could haul way more than I would like with this setup.

Molle straps and belt??? Looks comfy. Did you have to add of modify anything to get em to work?

Yeah, it’s a major improvement if you plan to haul anything. No major mods. Just used paracord to hold up the load lifters. The rest I just strapped on. It seems to be doing well.

Last January I hunted near Ft. Rucker in Ozark, Alabama and I was glad I had a warm coat in my tote. It was in the 20’s in the am and windy. Warmed up to the 40’s in the afternoon. It was colder in Bama than it was back home up north.
Deep south can be shockingly cold. Don't know if it's the humidity or what but a 30° morning out in Yellowstone was nothing like a 30° day in Alabama.
