Packs.... for Saddle hunting

G2,

Are you using the regular horn hunter or the xl? After reviewing almost every pack on this thread, this one appealed to me most. Just wondering which you went with since you are carrying camera gear.
Regular. I felt like the xl was overkill for Whitetail.

I have zero complaints about the pack.

Thanks, now to add that to my christmas list that is already too long...the fiance says lol

I watched that whole 11 minute video on the pack and it seems to be exactly what I want. I have currently an alpz (can't remember which model) and it just isn't cutting it for me. Glad you like the hornhunter, I am going to give it a shot.

Where did you order yours from?

Im using an Alps "pathfinder" great pack that allows for versatility. I can carry everything I need and more. I also added the turkey vest pockets that added immediate access to important items.

I have a similar alps pack with the same chest pockets. They are a great add on and the pack is versatile

I switched from an Alps pursuit pack. I bought it straight from the HH website. Needed it quick so I didn't shop around.

I just stumbled onto this post. I contacted a company yesterday that makes packs for railroad crews. I have been using one daily for the last 3 years. I work on call so it’s with me wherever I go. I’m going to see if they will work with me on designing a pack for hunting. The one I have now is just a bit too big but with a few changes I have in mind would be ideal. Everything is USA made and has a lifetime warranty. Hopefully they are willing to work with me. 045762F5-8CB9-4B44-ACD2-2426B61627C6.jpeg36C9D38E-0210-4947-9E52-3CD796A7604C.jpeg

Eberlestock tailhook or a Bowbat xl.

Neither are made anymore Nd both are excellent in their own way

I use a 5.11 Rush 12

It fits my saddle, water, linesman belts, etc inside and I strap my spurs to the outside.

This is everything I take but my bow...

How are you keeping the spurs in place? Does that backboard come with the pack?
