Pennsylvania state thread...

I'm 99% sure it's a fisher. First time I've seen one either in person or on a trail cam. Talked to a few people up here in the Pocono area and noone has seen one either.
PA has a limited trapping season on fishers. Limit 1 per year
A couple buddies have caught a few over the last several years in northern Butler county. They see them often in that area.

I've seen several over the years, but a couple years ago I tagged out on deer during archery but was with my Dad just observing during rifle. I was sitting about 10 yards from him on the ground. Was watching a fisher for awhile, something spooked it & the darn thing ran right at me, I thought it was going to literally run across my lap. Turned a little and passed me by by about 5 feet. Pretty cool.

Deer are starting to change coats, I've seen a handful of hard horned bucks now, nights in the 50's..... I live for this time of year!!!!
Same here.
Those racks just don't look like the same after they shed velvet. What looked like a book buck a few weeks ago now looks like it needs just one more year. LOL

Damn I’d have to clean my shorts after that, I’ve heard they’re mean son of a bitc@es!

They eat porcupines. I picked up one that I thought was a road kill, I was going to do a skull prep on it and give it to my then wife, who is a science teacher for her classroom. Turns out it was just knocked out, when the thing came to it ran up into the front passenger seat and all around the inside of my mini van, with my infant son and three year old daughter inside. Ah yes, I wasn't selected for father of the year that year, it was a little scary at the time, but we laugh at it now.

I've got nothing special buck wise yet. I am actually dreaming about shooting deer at this point. Last night I dreamed I was gonna shoot this doe from the ground but she was 47 and I only have pins to 40.

I am still getting the same buck I posted in July. He put on some more inches but not what I am looking for. I know we have better around I just have not got pics yet. Buck activity has picked up on my cams in the last week or so. Most of my mock scrapes I started in June and July are getting hit up by the bucks now. I was just getting does, fawns and occasional yearling buck. I can’t wait to see what shows on them come October!!

I run dinosaur cameras btw so my pics are not good :tearsofjoy: I've been slow to even get into "camera hunting" and don't run very many. IMO a lot of guys put too much stock in them. It is like this mental block and they will ignore obvious sign and not hunt an area because they don't have a good deer on camera, as if they are the tell all :tearsofjoy:

T minus 7 days for the early season!!! Get your MILKWEED®️ by @Allegheny Tom :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy: I kinda feel like milkweed is the equivalent of pumpkin spice for hunters!!! I hope everyone is ready for a good year! I love this time of year, the next few as for me are like those days leading up to Christmas, lying in bed dreaming about the bucks I'm gonna miss lol

I just shipped 150 pods today...oooh, they float so nice :)

I've seen a really nice buck driving to work 3 times in the past 2 weeks. First two times I caught glimpses and you get that sense when you've seen thousands of deer that, yeah, that is a pretty decent buck just from a quick glance.

This morning it's 43 degrees when I leave the house so of course I am getting kinda twitchy and thinking of hunting the entire one hour drive. Of course I have mentally bookmarked this little bank where I've seen this dude and WHAM there he 20 yards off the interstate in his full glory. Hard horned, white rack shining in the sun, really nice 4 x 4 frame, great mass, probably 20 inches wide. This is a good specimen for my area.

The kicker is he is 20 yards off a major interstate on a decent size piece of public land. I've spent all morning mapping him out and feel I have him pretty well figured out. I've never set foot on this piece so I am gonna go carefully poke around this weekend and see if I can gather more intel on him.

The wildcard is going to be how many other drivers have seen this dude. I know I'm not the only red blooded guy in Central PA that keeps one eye on the road and the other looking for deer this time of year. It might be a zoo in there but I am probably going to make some kind of play on him regardless early season.

@elk yinzer - rent a minivan for the day then do what @tam9492 suggested!!!
I've located a descent buck under similar conditions this year, except I was driving home from work (2nd shift) scene more then a handful of times now same location, then got him on camera 4 times now in mid day. I'm gonna have to let the wife borrow my truck so I can use her car!!
