Has anyone used to quiet sticks? I mean 2 or 3 thin coats may do the trick. I am buying a can tomorrow and gonna give it a try!

I think a few have tried it. If I recall getting it to stick long term has been an issue, didn't really silence it much and I think someone said it made a squeak. There is a thread somewhere on it.

There is plasti dip spray and plasti dip used to dip tool handles and such. I’ve used both and the dip for tools goes on much thicker and had a more rubbery feel. I put it on a breaker bar handle several years ago and most of it is still there. I recently plasti dip sprayed my outboard and thought the spray went on really thin. I used an entire can for a 25 hp Yamaha and the first two coats barely made a difference. I’ll post a link to a video I made. The finished product looked pretty good but like I said I had to use an entire can.

here is the video, the plasti dip spray is closer to the end.

I’ve tried both the spray and the dip on a pair of steps. The spray didn’t work for crap. Too thin and peeled off. The dip was too thick, had to cut it with something to thin it out, and then took multiple coats to get just right. After an extensively long trial, I’d for sure use something else next time. Vet wrap, stealth strips, heat shrink tubing without the adhesive. Here is my write up.

Thanks, I just saw a few videos the other night and thought it may work. I actually am using the tape wrap from Walmart. 4 rolls for like 14 bucks. It is basically hockey tape and it worked better than Stealth Strips on my Beast sticks where they stack. I have a line Beast sticks, new in box I was gonna try a bunch of **** on too see what worked best!

I forget who it was, that used spray-on plasti-dip to silence some 'biners and other metal gear. It didn't hold up. I bet you could do better on something like a stick though. Also you might stuff the tube with foam of some sort - thinking pipe wrap insulation or something similar.

I’ve tried it for other projects and it never held well. I will say that I’ve coated some surfaces with bedliner material found at local auto part stores. It is thicker, textured, and has held up to abuse well beyond what would put on hunting gear. I have not tried it on sticks but I’ve been tempted. Herculiner made a grey color that would be great for sticks.
