Platform Painting Really Necessary?

Had 20+ deer within 20 yards over 4 days last week wearing grey or tan First Lite pants, Brown or Grey Flannel, and a black heated vest. Oh, and Beast Sticks with stealth strip only where they sit together to make them quiet. They look too cool as they come.

Painted my Predator when I had it and the only thing it did was eventually smudge and get on my hands, haha.

Necessary? Not at all. Fun? yeah a little bit. If it's something you aren't going to have fun with, there's no reason to do it. I wouldn't do anything I wasn't going to have fun doing because at the end of the day it's just a hobby. And hobbies are supposed to be fun

Painted all my stuff. Realized that does nothing to stop the dreaded metallic clinks. Now everything is wrapped in hockey tap or something similar and can’t really see the paint...

My sticks are stealth stripped for noise and cold weather comfort. My platform is stock, may get some stealth strips on the post some day. Mostly because I can't seem to stop bouncing things off of it during setup, and because they are more comfortable to hold onto in the cold than bare or painted metal.

hunting a lot of public land, sometimes close to the people trails, I camo'ed up my stuff to make sure other people didn't see it right away. The deer dont much care, but I don't want the occasional runner/hiker to spot my all grey sticks on the tree off in an oak flat 30 yards off the trail. The deer dont much seem to care about what color the stuff is.

Not necessary, but I dont like bringing things with me to the woods that are reflective, unless I can control the glare, like a scope or binos. Do the deer care? Nope.

Looking at it on the tethrd website, it seems like the new models are more dulled down than mine was too

it's not necessary at all, but a lot of us like to have something hunting related going on here and there in our spare time in the off season...so it's just a fun project one summer afternoon and you look down and think "i did that and it looks pretty nice"

if you don't prep the metal right, it'll have a distressed look pretty fast.....my camo is pretty washed out after 1.5 seasons but you can still see it
