Well, I pulled the trigger on the EDP. First impressions is that it will work pretty well but I have not put it in a tree yet. My next question would be about the strap. Do you all replace the cam buckle strap and if so with what? Just messing around in the living room yesterday and I clanged the platform with the buckle a few times.

You can stealth the cam if you really like it. Other guys are really into Amsteel daisy chain or you can try the rope mod with the original straps.

Okay, so I got a chance to do my first climb today. A few things I noticed.
1. Get rid of the Black diamond multi-step aider. Almost took a spill right off the bat. Going to try cable aiders
2. As long as I took my time I was able to get in and out with VERY little noise.
3. I definitely need more practice but this will be a GREAT way to hunt public ground.

I am going to try to do a practice run every day after work and in the mornings on weekends. Should help me refine the process.

Also, I ordered a ring of steps. The idea being that I can use those in conjunction with the platform so that I can move around the tree more easily.

Really common practice. I have a couple fold up steps I’m gonna use if needed for this too.
