Just got my Tactisaddle couple days ago, standing on the seat of a old tree stand using it as a platform. Platform is the route I want to go. What’s suggestions everyone have? For light, sturdy, simple to operate and easy on the wallet?

There are a million different options out there. I personally use Hawk Helium’s and have had no issues. They’re budget friendly as well.

It's the one piece of saddle gear that hasn't been done very well yet commercially until then DIY is the way to go.

Ridge Runner and Predator are neck and neck for me. I really like them both!

If you know you're gunna use sticks, you might check out the OOAL scout (not the solo). It replaces the top step on a stick, then you have one less thing to carry.

This is even better if you're one- sick climbing, then you walk in with one stick that has your platform on it

I own a ridge runner and I can’t find a complaint about it and Not to high jack but how does a platform on a stick handle side pressure and kick outs? My chopped down api sticks seem to kick out pretty bad with my swaider

Another vote for the predator. Also agree that you need to have your sticks picked out first. It will open up the possibilities. Predator is not cheap but it's pretty much in line with the others that are similar. Set the predator right and it's rock solid. I'm 255lbs and I can lean out and put both feet on one side and doesn't even start to move. Good luck!

This will be my first year hunting/scouting . So far I’ve got the wild edge steps and tried the 5 step aider from black diamond and didn’t like the 5 step aider. It kicked out from under me to much. But I love the wild edge steps. So I ordered a knaider/swaider to see if I can make that work to get a bit higher with less steps. I’ve played around with using wild edge steps as a ring of steps and I have a predator platform. And the predator platform is what I’ll be using this year.

Solo scout and 2 treehopper steps. The steps nest together and you can put those in between the teeth on the back of the scout. Leaves enough strap to gift wrap it nice and snug

I actually have the same setup your talking about and it works amazing. Handles side pressure like a champ. I use 1/4 inch amsteel with a boat cleat mod to secure it to the tree. It doesn't budge and the whole setup is right about 3 lbs with a 2 step aider. If you were using an amsteeel daisy chain to secure it, it might try n kick out but if you get it tight I guarantee you'll be impressed. Screenshot_20200704-130046_Gallery.jpg
