Ordered the mission today - hoping to attempt my first saddle hunt next week. I'm as green as green can be on saddles, but been hunting from trees for over 40 years, so I am hopeful that the transition will be easy.
Even after some years of hunting a saddle, that first couple times each season of unhooking the linemans belt and leaning into the tether has a bit of pucker factor for me. lol

I just ordered my father in law an Ambush lite. He is 65 and going to give it a go.

I ordered a mission platform last Friday. I was too excited and flubbed the 10% discount when I ordered. On Monday I ordered the covert lite saddle with the 10% discount. After the order, I called Monday and spoke to, I think Nick. I told him about not getting the 10% for first order and failing to opt into the gadget vest or the 10%. He offered me either the 10% discount or gadget vest. I told him I’d want the gadget vest. OK done.

I told him that I was not rushed and that if he wanted to combine my orders (if it would not put others back) to save shipping on his end, to do so, and if it delayed shipment for me, so be it. Then we ended our conversation.

When I ordered both times, I used PayPal. Just within the last hour, I received UPS notification that I have two packages scheduled for delivery tomorrow. So I should receive my platform, saddle and gadget vest tomorrow. And logging into the trophyline site, I now see that the two orders are fulfilled.

One note, I am in the eastern most area of PA (Easton, PA) and shipping is coming from abouts the area of Pittsburgh, PA.

I like the way that Trophyline will communicate with me, not take my money until they have product to ship and are focused on me, as a consumer of their product.

Well I ordered last Friday and mine just shipped today and said it won’t be here till the 8th I believe I was thinking I got the next day . I’m gonna call them tomorrow

I decided to trade my Mission for a Predator. Great platform but I wanted something more packable, like that I can drop in a pack. I liked the Mission but it's literally like carrying a tiny hang on, without a seat. Maybe it's because I'm not a huge guy. If I need more room I'll carry my XOP Vanish. But I think the Predator will be a nice middle ground between something like a Solo and the Mission or Predator XL.

If you think of it, let me know how you like the predator compared to the mission. I’ve been considering the same thing due the exact same reason. I love the Mission but at the same time wish I had something that was a tad smaller and lighter for packability. I feel like I found the sweet spot (for me) for a climbing method with the Novix minis, now want to see if I can get there with the platform.

Man I’m in Arkansas which probably had a part to play in. It taking longer . But man I hope it gets here way faster. Man I’m hoping to really utilize that extra room on the platform . I got big feet man lol

Will do. I have the Novix minis as well. I had hoped they would pair with the Mission a little better. They stack well but it's a bit bulky with them stacked on there. It's a solid platform but I just felt like I was dealing with a tiny tree stand instead of a saddle platform.

INMHO and experience saddle hunting is kind of a minimalist mentality...the predator g2 is small lightweight and seconds to install...rock solid when installed...side pressure is not even an issue...when I say small I dont mean too small...I think its perfect and I'm 195lbs...165lbs should be a breeze...saddle hunting is so much about personal preference that its hard to give advice...only experience...at 3 lbs and ample space being rock solid, quiet and ease of install in the dark the predator is a no brainer in my experience...Tethrd makes awesome stuff!
I agree ,I just purchased a ros for the short 4-5 hour hunts standing confidently is nice which the predator does for me I'm 195 10.5 boots

Oh yeah. I agree it is kind of bulky. Also wish they included a way to hold them solid on the platform too. If I do that I use the larger nitize gear ties. It’s kind of a pain but I do it if I’m going to walk for a while. Yeah it is solid as heck. I actually got it because it seemed like a small tree stand. But I’m still kind of wanting that middle sweet spot of a platform which the predator I guess is the closest thing I know of available right now. Will be interesting to see what comes along in 2021 too.

You will be fine. I bought my saddle set up in early November and I have hunted out of it a couple times. Your overall experience will kick in and you will be fine. Practice set and shooting in your yard, and you will catch on quick.

I have now been through several platform alternatives trying to "avoid" the Predator. Ameristeps, Primal Plywood, Podium, Treesuit, Mission (yet to receive and try this one).

Perhaps this is Quixotic of me, and I will end up on a Predator eventually.

I have purchased the Mission precisely for the reason that it purportedly pairs with the Novix minis so well. If this proves not to be the case this will have to be yet another catch and release.

I feel a U2 song coming on.

I started a year ago on the Predator Gen 2. 195LBS and 11 size boots. If I wanted more foot room I think I'd just add a squirrel step. I stand on mine with back to the tree almost every hunt.
