I was wondering if pleated saddles hold their form over time? Could some of y'all who have a pleated saddle that has lost its ability to go back to unpleated state. Tell how old the saddle is or how much it was used before losing its shape. And if you have one that you have used a long time and still goes back into shape please tell how long you have used it. Thanks for info. Just curious before making any decisions.

I have the kestrel flex I hunted out of it all last season. The pleat will not hold itself closed now. I don't know when in the season that happened but it hasn't bothered me at all. I wear it in every hunt without issues and to me it's still comfortable.

Sounds about right.

I only see this as an issue if you wear your saddle while walking to location. I find the pleat stays how you want it when you weight the saddle on stand.

You could always sew a retaining device to keep the pleat closed, maybe webbing sliders like the Transformer and others use or adjustable bungee.
