We're going to have to keep an eye on the dolphins, if they decide to leave we're all screwedTwo words...intergalactic bypass.
Chernobyl is vastly overrated..Perfect! I'd thrive for sure. Hillbillies unite!
On a serious note, I voted virus. The world is playing a dangerous game right now and all it takes is one slip with anything nuclear or a manufactured virus. My fear is WWIII and nasty Bio-warfare.
This where someone who can hunt, trap, fish, and build things will survive and others will wish they had learned to hang from a tree with a diaper while shooting a bow lolNot just the skills. But without industrialization of things needed for survival (food and shelter and clothing) there's not enough resources to go around for 7 billion people. I think the first wave of chaos would knock about about 20-40% of the population in about 5-10 years. People have no concept of how much of food production is a result of the infrastructure we've developed. It's not just the amount of food capable of being produced. It's that the mechanism to produce and then distribute goes away without web and power. You're right.
People have been lulled into a false sense of security. The veneer of civilization is thin.
First thing however is to survive the initial hordes of the purge. This

I wonder how long all my milk/orange juice cartons of ice would last after the power was out.I was jut having this discussion with someone last evening. Imagine the calamity that would befall our society if the world wide web suddenly went away. No utilities, no food distribution, no gasoline, no manufacturing . . . . the list goes on and on. We'd be suddnely thrust back into the mid 1800's leaving most without the skills necessary to survive.

Portland huh?I’m heading for the most uninhabitable places possible for a few years. As far from anyone that doesn’t share my blood as I can be
Portland huh?
Not we've seen hardened and seasoned survivors since wagon trains headed west.Easy to pick on the libtards and city slickers. But most country boys are more like them than they are hardened and seasoned survivors.
Is that anything like Gastric bypass? Two words...intergalactic bypass.
So you’re going to California? Asking for a friend lolYes. People will just shoot you and take your bounty.

I’m suggesting that if we lost the “world wide web” mankind would prevail. Are you expressing confidence in humans or lack of it?

Do you know something that you aren’t sharing with us?
Just saying. I’ll quit worrying about my sales quota if we are going to devolve in the next few months.
