Scouted 7 miles Saturday in Illinois. Found 1 really jam up spot that’s a booger to get to. Cut this track that was leading into the thick.

I'll just post this here since the day turned out to be mostly scouting while pig hunting. I made a big loop this morning and was in what looked to be week old sign most of the way out. I never saw a pig, but it was a fun morning. I found what looked like a classic buck bed on the tip of an oxbow. It was like a little cave up in there, and though the sign looked old, it had the earmarks of a buck bed. I did not crawl around in there to check for old hairs since half an hour earlier I noticed what looked like a Little Debbie Honey Bun on the side of the creek bank about 2 feet from my boot. I quickly realized the Honey Bun was a coiled up water moccasin, lol. The snakes have been bad this year, by the way. I found the first rattlesnake I have ever seen in my yard last week. It was in a rotten branch I had been carrying to the burn pile. I threw the branch down to break it and the little rattler popped out.

I carried my 44 pound compound today. Since missing 4 shots at pigs the last time I was out with my longbow, I decided to take something I can actually hit what I am aiming at with. I carried the arrows in my Catquiver today. Yesterday I was practicing in the yard with the bow mounted quiver on and I just did not like shooting it with the quiver. The Catquiver worked great. I had plenty of room for a water and my Wiggies Waders with a ton of room to spare.
