Being in south florida for the past 16 years i totally understand this struggle. I start in May with hurricane prep. I fill and treat gas cans, start the generator buy extra food and water. When Hurricane Charley made its hard right turn just 30 miles north of me it was bad. People would drive around at night and try to steal generators that were left out side. Had one or two that saw the business side of my Colt AR 15. Then they met my softer side when i offered them a dip in my pool and some cold water for their ride home. I Just explained to them look if you would just knock on my door and ask for help I'd welcome you in no questions asked. But don't be that guy that thinks they are entitled.
