Sorry this happened, especially with your limited quota hunt underway. If you want a quick, cheap alternative to your climber, and screw-in steps are allowed there, you might just buy half a dozen Ameristep screw-in steps to make a quick ROS. Typical big box store price is about $3 each. Sportsman's Warehouse was recently advertising them for $2 each. Or go with their beefier grizzly steps for about $4 each. I've used this method and it isn't as convenient as a strap-on ROS but it's cheap and it works. I find it most comfortable to space them close together so I can span each foot across 2 steps. One step under each foot gets painful after a while, especially with soft-soled shoes. Stiffer soles helps - especially steel shank work boots. Good luck, however you decide to go.
