Hey guys so I just got my predator in the mail today, it came with a black bracket and has a one piece on it.. wondering which one people use and it also says to sand the coating on the black one due to noise. I'm just curious on why they give you two different brackets..Screenshot_20200826-193329~2.png

Rough up the biting edges with a coarse bastard file to eliminate squeaking. Hatching stops the squeaks

Black is the new version. Just sand it down a little. And as to why? It’s all about shaving weight. See those machined holes? .00145 oz less in the pack. (Said with deeply implied sarcasm).

Anyone get a longer bolt and run one on each side of the post?? Basically making a step to put a foot against for odd angled shots etc

That doesn’t seem like a bad idea, wouldn’t fold as flat though.

It wouldn’t, but I see the use of the second bracket outweighing a slightly thicker “packed” platform.

What if you had a piece of angled aluminum the size of the step you’re wanting and had that bolted on the top of the post? Might fold flat and give you a step

That makes sense, could cut “teeth” into it for grip on your boots. The only thing is it would have to be taller than the post to make it fold flat.

I put a double step from danO on mine when I had it was nice foot hold. Few people on here have done it. With the double step the stock bolt worked. It folded decent too. Definitely not flat but still went in pred pack easy.
