You guys know of any NBA, NFL, etc, players that hunt? I know there is a long list of retired athletes that hunt but it would be interesting to know what active athletes retreat to the woods.

Most don't have the time while they are playing. Then when they are done they have all the money and time. Most mention that during interviews. Karl Malone (Retired NBA) is a huge steelhead fisherman. He takes guys on the river almost every day during season. He is on the oars all day. That is passion.

Carson Wentz was the first that came to my mind. Also Pete Alonzo was hunting with the meateater crew on their season that dropped recently.

Shane Dorian - Dad, Surfer, Bowhunter.

I share the same priorities -I’m better at surfing then hunting, but I haven’t caught up to Shane yet.

I was just gonna bring up some surfers that really took to bowhunting.

Brett Favre and Walter Payton to of the best players and toughest players at thier position. Its more than you think.

Yeah Carson Wentz was who I thought of first. I recall an interview he had (as a rookie I think?) on the radio where he said he’d enjoyed a recent trip back home, got to hunt, and was happy about killing a big buck. The Miami host had to break it down and have Wentz clarify what a “buck” meant (Stugotz... if there’s any Le Betard fans out there). Kinda blew my mind. I’m pretty sure my dad taught me deer terminology before I could count above 20...

Adam Laroche is retired now but be hunted all the time after season, same with Josh Beckett. Brett Favre talked all the time about hunting during the off-season.

I'm sure there are more, but those are the only few that I know of that hunted while active. As you said lots of retired guys for sure.

Derrick Lewis. UFC heavyweight hunts. Talked about buying land to hunt at a recent interview
