The last couple of years the desire to obtain a saddle has gain traction each year. Well, after reading blog after blog and watching informative video after video I settled, broke down and purchased the Cruzr XC. Thinking the hard part was behind me.I was wrong. There's just so much to chose from. Normally I'm one to do research and figure things out on my own.Thats not the case here.I saved 3-4 years to buy my saddle. Im not able to spend top dollar as I am a proud father of 7. Could you ladies and gentlemen guide me in the correct direction. I understand the importance in the gear left to complete my journey of being a saddle hunter. Also if your could share your do's and do not's. All knowlege is definitely 100%welcomed

What else are you in need of? Ropes? Sticks?platform?

All I have purchased so far is saddle.

You’ll be able to pick up the rest of what you need at a reasonable price between the classifieds here and archery talk. Probably still going to be around 300 to get fully set up even at used pricing.

Hawk helium 4 pack can be bought for $80-100 on sale.
Tree tether and lineman’s $80
Platform $100.

Won’t need much after that.

Also, set your platform up just slightly off the ground for the first few practice sessions. Move it higher if wanted once you are comfortable with it. My practice height is about 6 feet off the ground. No reason for me to go any higher. Don't get hung up on all the gadgets and goodies right at the start. You don't NEED them, but might want to add them later. Don't be afraid to experiment with different tether heights and lengths. It's all about what is comfortable to you individually. Ask all the questions you can think of to the forum. A lot of great guys with an incredible amount of knowledge in here.

Absolutely will do. Appreciate your feedback . More tips, do's and don'ts are definitely appreciated . Thank you so much!

You can get a few dump pouches on amazon. I think I bought a 2 pack for $15. You can use hitches instead of ascenders to save money.
If you need and want, I have predator rope you can have. I’ll send you 20’ if you pay the shipping.
