After much debate and reading on this forum, I went with the ridge runner. Decided that I valued the wider size over increased pack ability. Hope I made the right choice, next season will be my first in a saddle!! Thanks for all the great threads on here

Different things work for different people, and the ridge runner is perfect for me. My guess is you will like it a lot. If not, it shouldn't be too hard to get most of your money back on the used market.

I really like mine. I have never had a complaint with it.

The Ridge Runner was a game-changer for me. It's very well made and rock-solid on the tree. I've been using mine on bald cypress trees in the swamp and it doesn't budge. I also really like having the wider platform; you can stand or lean with your boots at shoulder width and it's super comfortable. I'll never go back to my ring of steps. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine.

Awesome piece of equipment! Its size helps to mitigate fatigue.

I hunted all season on my Ridge runner and that thing is SOLID. you'll want to figure out the right tension and pull it up and cam it down to make sure you lock it on the tree nice and tight!

I also found that more moderate diameter trees definitely work better than large diameter trees.

It is great. The only downside is that it's about 4lbs with the strap, but not a deal-breaker by any stretch. All of Matt's products are well thought out.
