Pursuit platforms

Spent about 3.5 hours in the tree with mine Sunday with no issues whatsoever. was running three diy climbpaw style steps on the strap with it on a 12"ish sized oak tree. Really like how small that package packs down

You might have mentioned this previous but what's your weight? I'm 235 no gear. I want this to work out for sure and hope the next one I get is the ticket!

Here's it all packed up, I haven't taken any shots on the tree of it. This whole package will hang off the back of my saddle from a carabineer

^^^ Seems like a pretty steep angle on your 'climb paws'.
Are they comfy?
Do they stay tight on the tree? It looks like they could slide down.
I've never tried any...

They are cut at a 45 on both ends, I initially used round holes and a ratchet strap and they wanted to cam up and down, they wouldn't come loose, but had to be settled back into place everytime I moved my feet. I switched to slots and the cam buckle that cam with the pursuit platform and they are rock solid now. The portion your foot rides on is 3" x 2 3/8" wide so it's a pretty forgiving place to rest your foot, I haven't used any manufactured steps to compare them to though. They are made out of 2" schedule 40, and just under 7" long on the long side of the angles.

killed my deer this week with a pursuit stand. have to say for the weight, and the footing area, I was totally satisfied. I had no bend in my platform beyond a little "flex" that actually felt. a bit more natural when i was moving around then a metal platform. A one stick, this platform, and three bullman plastic steps, its my best setup yet.

man, I want my pursuit to work so bad... lol
What are these climb paws?
I made mine out of 2" schedule 40 PVC, they are modeled after an old school product that were similar in design, not sure what the O.G.s were made of. I think some people have used 3"& 4" before but my size 12 fits fine on the 2". I'll take them off the strap and take some better pictures of them for you later tonight

just use them like a ROS?

@RMcDonald7 here's some photos of one of my "climbpaws" I run two to the right of my platform and one to the left. They stay threaded on the strap the whole time, the strap runs through the flat slots, the round holes didn't work well. The ends are cut at a straight 45° and I filed some notches for a little bit of grip.

When I used the round holes they sprung up when unloaded, but didn't come loose from the tree. That was with a ratchet strap and no platform on the strap. With the ocb ram through the slots and the platform they stay on the tree nice and solid
