Where the skys are so blue!
Full write up to come when time permits. Basically, I out the old man on a studly 7 point. He had never been on the property before, it was his first sit, and he was wearing shorts the day after Christmas. I've stolen numerous articles of clothing from him over the years trying to pick up a piece of that luck!

It felt awesome to connect right out of the gate that weekend, and even better to pay my dad back for all the hunts he's taken me on over the years.

Nice! I skipped some of the beginning commentary :) I bet that will be yours and his most memorable hunt for a long time.

I don't blame you. Most of the videos will be commentary. Until I can figure out a camera system that let's me record without being a PITA, it's gonna be pre and post hunt footage for me. Lotta truck monologues.

We've doubled up once before. Probably 10 years ago. It was a hunt he got invited on and brought me as a teen. It was nice to have it play out the same way a decade later, but with me providing the hookup. :)

That pic of your dad is like looking at one of those artist renditions of you 20 years older. lol.

Congrats to both of you on an awesome buck.
I hope I look as good as he does in 20 years. What's really spooky is how similar we sound.

My mom once called me instead of my dad by mistake. She ranted for a good 5 minutes about how I was driving her up a wall (I was a terrible teen). I "hmmed" and "right?'ed" along for the whole thing, until she stopped for breath.

"Love you too, mom" wasn't the response she was expecting. She still isnt amused. :)

LOL, life is good.

I appreciate all of your work to educate us guys on this saddle stuff. I have killed nearly a 100 deer, and did it mostly out of a lock on limb and the occasional climbing stand, and am about to make the plunge into the saddle world and your videos (and saddle hunting's) have really helped me to get a hair towards being up to speed. Thanks for the excellent breakdown of saddle stuff.
