I believe it's mandatory to carry a judo tipped arrow in the quiver. They have more uses than just stump shooting.
But they don't work out well in bow quivers. I recently lost an expensive, judo-tipped arrow while blood trailing thru some nasty cover. It's not the 1st time I've had a judo get knocked out of the quiver either in heavy cover or even while pulling it up thru branches to the stand.
I was determined to fix the issue. I know they sell little single grippers that clip onto an adjacent arrow but that system doesn't at all appeal to me.
So I tried just hollowing-out a hole in the foam in order to insert the judo into the hood but that didn't work well. The judo hooks still tried to grab the foam when I tried to stow the arrow.

I came up with this.
I cut a small prescription bottle in half with a hacksaw and basically used the rough edge of the cut to work like a hole saw. I just worked it back and forth while firmly pushing it into the foam. When I reached the desired depth, I pulled out the bottle half and then broke out the section of foam.
I flipped the bottle over so the little child-proof-cap nubs were inserted into the foam to help act as retainers.

I cut the bottle in half for 2 reasons.
1) The bottle I had was too long for the depth of the hood and 2) more importantly, the "bottle" was now essentially just a tube with a soft bottom (the foam) which will also help hold the judo from slopping side-to-side.
I purposely chose to use the center of the hood due to the slope/taper of the hood. If I tried (and I did try) to use one of the end grippers, the tube had less room for insertion.

Haha, The foam was rescued from the trash at a factory where I once worked. It was used for padding production machines during shipment.
The pill bottle was laying around from an old med.
Total cost for this sweet mod...zero!
Gotta love it.

I,ve Always Just Carried Mine Upside Down W/the Nock in the Foam!

I switched from Judo points a few years ago, to the Forge Converta Blunt, from 3 Rivers Archery. They're 75 grains and you add the appropriate field tip weight to attain the same weight as the field tips that your bow/arrow set up is tuned with from practice. :) For some of my arrows I shoot a 200 gr. tip weight, so I use a 125 gr. field tip with the Forge Converta Blunt to get the same 200 grains of tip weight.
These tips are more durable than the Judo tips and don't catch on everything with the wires.

If you need an exact weight of 125, 145, 175 or 200 grains, then they offer those weight in the Ace Hex Screw-In Blunts.
