I shot 12 tagged 8.
Ones I didn't put a tag on below.
1. 40 yard shot on a doe, dipped the string and rodeo turned. Brisket hit. Live on cam the rest of the season.
2. Another 40 yard shot on a doe, same scenario except scapula hit. Jumped her 9 hours after the hit, she was alive and well, no blood leaving the bed.
3. Smoked a doe in Ohio with a .450 BM broadside (running) at 15 yards, TWICE. Bone and hair everywhere, no blood. 6 guys grid searching with no results. Them Ohio deer are a different breed.
4. Shot a nice 10 broadside again at 15 yards in Ohio. Great blood for 300 yards. Blood stopped at a heavily used gravel road. (Blood all over the road not across it) The only thing we can think of is a herd of Amish hunters stopped right where the blood stopped in the road about 30 minutes after I shot. Again, we grid searched and there is no way that deer made it across the road. I'm 99% sure it was stolen.

Til next year!

If you’re really a numbers nerd then you need to come up with a WAR for the contest….Whitetails Above Replacement
Definitely doable... take the average points scored from all the members in the contest to get your baseline. Then you'd need to compare all members scores to the baseline to get their +/-. Then attach that number to each members profile so we can decide on who to roast come the preseason trash talk thread :tearsofjoy:

I’m another one that was on the ground with my saddle on when I got it done so couldn’t submit it. after an uneventful morning sit, scouting for fresh sign, finding fresh sign, hanging for another 2 hours before deciding I didn’t like the set, climbing down and moving up the ridge 15 yards and setting up behind a v shaped tree to kill a nice 8 a couple hours later walking by at 5 yards.

Feels like I should have earned partial credit on this test. Sucks that I couldn’t put points on the board for team 7 but that sure was an awesome encounter.

I do wonder if there's anyone that bends the rules on those ground shots... Honor system and all that

I shot my first deer ever from the ground this year, so goose egg on contest for me but I'm still super happy. only a few late season sits left, hoping for another/some points.

These stats are not meant to be or should be taken as a reflection of ones hunting skills by any means.
I'm sure we have guys here who kill a boat load of deer and are not interested in participating in the contest and we have guys that kill a bunch of deer but can't/don't submit them because the kills are ineligible as per contest rules. I bet we also have guys who gave it their all trying to put a deer down but fell short for whatever reason and that's ok too. Some in the contest take it seriously and do everything in their power to kill deer to enter it while others rather kill deer first and not worry if it's able to be entered. Whatever floats your boat really just be happy being you and don't compare yourself to others because the contest is meant for us to have fun.

Want to know a little secret? I presented the contest data to try to delay the onslaught of mind numbing posts about one sticking and heavy arrows that seem to be the norm once all deer seasons are closed. :tonguewink:

Nah, its looking this year more like 2TC and "soft" /carbon fiber/plastic platforms....... Aluminum is out, CF and Plastic are in :tearsofjoy: :fearscream: :fearscream:

I’m surprised with the stats, but pleased at same time since I’ve had a buck and doe the 2 yrs I’ve participated. Including the 14 pointer last year. That won’t happen any time soon again
!!:tonguewink: Lol!
