Random Musings From Your Resident Contrarian and Underage Curmudgeon

I hate working and quarterly performance reviews.

I hate conversations with coworkers where I have to refrain from telling them I can explain it to them, but I can't understand it for them.

I hate being the only hunter in my department.

I hate that it's 80° in the middle of November with a 3rd storm lining up to hit us. On a weekend, no less.

I hate the GAMECHANGING facebook groups where guys spend all summer bragging about how awesome their new saddle gear is (and how the one saddle they have tried is the best), and then after like 2 hunts sell it all off for a treestand.

Hunt however you like (as long as it respects the resource, others around you, and local laws and customs)...but let's be realistic.
Going on that, I hate general hype around new things in the summer. NOTHING is proven until you've hunted with it at least 5 times.

This is such a good one. I second this. I've been ready to go to sleep at 5:30 for the past week.
I really sometimes wonder if DST isn't a plot to kill off those vulnerable to depression. Why the heck would you deliberately engineer the day to put somebody at work for the entirety of the daylight period? It's sick

"Can’t see when I go to work, can’t see when I get off
How do you expect a man not to get lost

I agree, I hate it.

I hate it when rifle hunters come up here and wound a deer, watch it struggle to get up without putting another bullet into it to put it out of the misery they put it in. Then when the deer figures out a way to get up and run off, they just watch it and go, ah well... Spend 10 minutes looking for it, say can't find her it'll be fine, and then go on bad mouthing a neighbor saying "man those guys don't know how to hunt"...

Not just rifle hunters, but when a hunter has that little respect for the animal they are hunting, then I don't think they should be hunting that animal in the first place.

I hate it when people will take the time to write a manifesto but still have to use abreviations and texting shorthand. You obviously felt the need to tell everybody what is rattling around inside your kettle of a head, so how about you use actual words to express yourself.

I hate that so many hunters turn into law breakers when they are on public lands.

You can't leave your tree stand up over night on WMAs in Minnesota (or all year).

You can't use trail cameras on WMAs in Minnesota.

You can't cut shooting lanes on WMAs in Minnesota.

You can't leave your canoe laying at a crossing on WMAs (or any other personal property) in Minnesota.

You can't leave your hunting blind over night on WMAs in Minnesota.

You can't use screw in steps on WMAs in Minnesota.

Apparently other hunters must not be able to read. I would prefer to believe that rather than believe they don't feel laws app!y to them. I follow all the laws, everyone else should too!!

There, I got it all out.

Now I know why your post was so long. Mine would be equally as long. But my #1 is people asking the same questions and beating to death topics that have been discussed and questions that have already been answered. SEARCH FUNCTION!!!!
I don't know about every one else and maybe it's just the key words Im putting in but the search feature rarely finds what I'm looking for and if everyone used it then I'd never have anything to read Lol

Agreed. Part of the reason I started carrying a sharpie with me on wildlife management areas. I'm the kind of guy that takes down the unattended stands and leaves them at the bottom of the tree. Then I write a polite note on the stand asking the person to follow the rules. Screw in pegs don't get left though.
Also learned something. I don't remember reading that trail cameras are not allowed.
