Wanted something I could open/close one handed for my rappel ropes. Took initial idea from the thread @always89y posted a while back for a rappel bag with cinch straps. I replaced the cinch cords with bungee and added a molle clip in the middle to hook the bungee on. Holds 50 ft of htp, a caribiner, and gri gri+.

I added the molle hardware just in case, but my intent it to leave this in my back pack and just drop it once attached.

I don't carry a backpack, I do carry a Crosspaq, I hadn't thought about it on there, I was thinking of putting it on the saddle.

I tried this and a roll pouch on saddle. Was just too heavy for my liking on the saddle.

Is your rope doubled over or just coiled around your elbow? Can you share dimensions of the bag?

I can post dimensions later today when I get home. I coil around hand and elbow, but in a figure 8. Then fold in half at the center.

Started with a 10 x 16 section of 500d cordura. Top amd bottom folded over 1/2 inch and sewn. Also have a band of 1 inch webbing around inside at top and bottom to help secure the mesh and the molle clip attachments.

I love it, especially how you secure the bungee. But why the bottom bungee? The bottom of the bag is opened just like the top is it?

Thought was open the top, grab the delta link and connect to tree with rope still in bag. Then open bottom and drop the rope out. I built this off of another design and just added the bungee attachment. You would be fine without the bottom openable.
