RDA 1 stick

Do you guys know if I the bolts for the steps and standoffs are 1/4" or 5/16?
Mine are 1/4, but I should note that mine doesn't have the RDA standoffs. I bought it off of onestringer, so very possible it's not the stock hardware, but it does have the crows nest top and lookout bottom step.

Dano's rotating standoffs

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. That a really nice stick. Mine should arrive tomorrow. Pretty much the same set up as your. Do you feel ok, safe with the 1/4" bolts? I'm not big guy but I'm not small either. 5'11, 205lbs. I was thinking that if it came with 1/4" bolts, I would swap them out with 5/16th. I'm not sure if it even necessary? What's your opinion?

im 5’11’’ 240 and all my Novix sticks are 1/4 and those things have been absolutely bullet proof. This feels the exact same as them so I don’t see it being an issue.

1/4 is fine by me. I am about 5 '9 and 140lbs. I feel absolutely fine on the 1/4 hardware. That said if going bigger is going to make you feel safer or more confident, then by all means, do it

all done and ready for a tree. Hopefully tomorrow
Mine came in yesterday evening. It's raining here in MD so I won't be able to put it on a tree today. Wanted to snap and post some pics, but the camera on galaxy is not working. Hopefully I can get it working soon so I can post. Going to try and do a nice camo job like yours in the near future.

@Shapeshifter , so short of pictures. What did you go with for your final setup then? Or final for now, ha, because we all know it will change

I went with the crows nest top, lookout bottom and a 3 step aider. I'm really happy with it. Looks like it great quality piece of gear . It's gonna be nice to ditch the extra weight of 3 sticks and a platform, plus my knaider and swaider.

Right on brother, enjoy.
I assume you will like 1 sticking. It's a very efficient way to get up and down, but everyone has their opinion on the "best" way to do things. As of now for me one sticking is that.

First hunt of the year I one sticked up and forgot and left a screw in bow holder in the tree. I sold my one stick during the season, but after season I went to that tree with my 5 Tethrd One sticks to retrieve that bow holder. It was all I could do to reach it with 5 sticks when I had only made my initial move and two more on the one stick. So needless to say, I may be revisiting one sticking.

Thanks brother, I'm eager to try it. I'm already rappelling down so used to hanging on a long tether on the side of the tree, while I pull my sticks on the way down.

I haven’t been able to get it on a tree yet but I did pickup an ATC to try and use “privileged bow hunters” climb and rappel method. I do like it, but my tails on my eye to eye are very long. It did work extremely well as a tender but because the tail is so long it was a long pull to take up slack. I’m going to pickup so new rope an accessory cord this off season. But in the meantime I’ll be using other methods

I used a Madrock this past season and liked it alot . Pretty simple to use. I also keep a figure 8 in my dump pouch just incase anything were to go wrong with it. I don't think it will , it's a pretty solid device.

my buddy has a madrock I played around with, I know it’s a rarity, but I’ve seen a few here and there where the handle snapped. I’m just trying to stay away from mechanical as much as possible for my own peace of mind.

Can we see pics soon? I’m looking at pulling the trigger on the same setup. Do you think the crows nest top paired with ROS would work for shorter sits?

Sorry my Camara on my phone crapped out. I'm going try and get a new phone tomorrow possibly. I'm planning on running a ROS 2 to 3 steps with mine also.

That's pretty scary. I haven't had any issues with mine, but that's why I'm carrying a backup figure 8.

No worries. I’ve got an itchy trigger finger right now and want to pull it on this stick. Seems like a quality one stick.

Took out my New RDA 1 Stick and did my first practice one stick climb. Went up about 23 to 24 feet in 4 moves. Overall I was impressed with the stick , the standoff bit really well into the tree and it felt solid.I wasn't expecting the standoffs to pivot a little, but they worked well and guess it just a matter of get used to that. I was trying to post a couple of pictures but it keeps telling me that the file is to large. Not sure what I'm doing wrong since I haven't ever posted in pictures before. Are you guy posting pics using your phone or the computer?
