For those with a meat hauler style pack, Kifaru Stryker XL, MR Popup 28 etc., how would you recommend carrying your climbing sticks and platform? I'm a one-sticker and just strap it to the outside but with harsher weather coming and potential for carrying sticks and bulky clothing, how are you guys carrying all this in with a meat hauler style pack system??? Pics would be the best. Thanks all.

Following.
This the best way I found, but I am open to suggestions.
Platform in Backwoods pouch between pack and frame. I have a Sherman pocket on order to strap sticks on back.

How would you use the Sherman Pocket for your climbing sticks? What climbing sticks to do you have? I traded for some LWCG Double Steps and Have also recently traded for GenIII Tethyrd One Sticks fyi.

My pack is empty so this picture is not the best. Took my pockets off the back of the pack. Put these straps together from g hooks and webbing from EWO. The Sherman will replace them.
Also use cut down Lone Wolf sticks. Stack them flat.Screenshot_20221205-145103_Gallery.jpg

With the StrykerXL I put 5 One sticks horizontally in the bottom of meat shelf then sit my EDP just above that. Not on it, above it. Throw whatever outer garments in there and cinch it all down.

I started out the season with a Sherman pocket as well but it was just too many clips, straps and fiddling for my liking. I took the Sherman off and added a medium and large belt pouch and it works much better.

Perfect these are what I was looking for. I still don’t understand what either the Sherman pocket or the large and small pouches have to do with how you guys are carrying your sticks and platform unless it’s just a way to have space for extra gear so you can cinch down your pack on the sticks and platform??? Thanks sorry for my obtuseness!!! I appreciate your responses!!

Do you all carry or wear your saddles in? I typically carry my saddle in the pack. I also have my tether pouch on my hip belt and my Doyle’s on the other side of my hip belt of the pack so my saddle is very light with just my LB daisychained to the left side.

The pouches don’t help, just a place for stuff. The Sherman pocket is another cinching device so you can lay items on the pack face and then cinch it down between the Sherman pocket and the pack similar to the way you cinch things on a meat shelf.

When I had two pockets on the outside, back of pack, I attached sticks to the side of the pack. Got concerned that if I fell, sharp stick parts could cut me. This is why I am placing sticks on back of pack. Also I could not use the side pockets for my water.

Are you using aiders with your sticks?

Sherman Pocket or medium belt pouch can be used to cradle a bow cam or gun butt for packing a weapon in and/or out. Depending on the choice, they enable a back carry and/or side carry.

That's not something I do all the time, but it's good to think through all the possibilities when developing your preferred system, so I thought it worth a mention.

What are those lash straps holding the sticks in place? Are they just the straps from the other side run to the opposite buckles?
yup.. they extend out quite a ways and they reach with the pack completely full and with the sanctuary bibs in the meat shelf.. i actually also have the MR extensions but I got those back when i built a holster for WE steps.. but i was thinking about adding those if I start bringing filming equipment or anything.. MR purposely flipped the orientation of the buckles from one side to the other so you can bypass the pack and use them as compression straps.

Kifaru does this on quite a few packs as well.
