I think I remember an old thread about this but can’t find it. I’m running a tree hopper recon sling this year and love it when I’m in the tree, but there’s a bit of fidgeting to get it right. How have you all modded them? I haven’t done a single thing but take off those god forsaken leg loops, I seriously don’t know how anyone could stand to use those…. May go to the bungee belt mod also. And does anyone have a way to keep the panels from moving around so much? I gotta work for 20 minutes to get it straight and put it on. Thanks!

What I did that made it so much easier to use was taking off the leg straps like you then got rid of both the waist belt and bridge. I bought heavy duty webbing from DanO (about 6’) used that for my new bridge and had plenty excess on both ends of the side plates to use as my waist belt as well with a 1” dual adjustable AustriAlpin buckle. So simple to use and safer in my opinion.

I believe they technically have to provide leg loops to meet certain safety standards. Not sure if this is true but I know it’s that way with safety harnesses.

Do you have pouches attached to it? I tried doing that but found out they pull down too much on it. As long as I pull the webbing to even out the 2 panels before I slide it up, I haven’t had a problem. I even leave the leg loops attached and slip my feet through them on the ground. I have been able to walk into the woods about a half mile wearing it without any problems
