That is a really good review. I've been very involved with Mark and his redesign of the Anderson so I already knew the Recon as well as anyone and there isn't much else that I could add to that excellent video.
The one thing that I would have liked to seen addressed is the routing of the sling webbing through the plates. In the video, you can see how the bottom section of webbing enters the side plates from the INSIDE and exit to the OUTSIDE of the plates. Personally, I prefer the bottom to enter the plates from the outside...just the opposite of how Mark ships them. I think the sling is even more comfortable with the bottom coming in from the outside. But switching it from one to the other is so easy. The straps just get twisted within the plates and basically, the switch has been made. I've been asked several times to make a video of how to do that. I need to. But my video skills are not nearly as polished as MADHUNTS' videos are.
Mark and I have talked many times about which way is the best way to route the straps, and it is a matter of personal preference. But thats one more thing about the Recon that is so nice. The user can easily tweak a few things and configure it just how they like it best. The Recon is so easy to experiment with and if you don't like what you try, then it is easily put back the way it was when Mark shipped it to you.
And I can't say enough about working with Mark Cama. He is a stand up guy 100%. He listens, he's alway thinking about how to make every product even better, and when dealing with him, he has total concern for customer satisfaction. If it ain't right, he will make it right for the customer. No worries about that at all.
Oh, one more thing, the Recon is sewn right here in the USA, by a skydiving gear company in Florida. Who would know more about manufacturing life sustaining gear than a skydiving gear manufacturer? And its great that the Recon is American made. Im getting a little sick and tired of crap coming from Asia.
