I lost my linesman’s rope this week during a hunt. I made one out of a tow strap by tie a loop just above the hook. I wrapped the hook around the lineman’s loop and attached. I tied to tag end onto the other loop. It worked ok but the static length was not super great. Let’s hear what you all can come with to make a redneck version of a Ropeman in a pinch.

Literally all you need is a length of rope and enough knowledge to tie a figure8 follow through, an alpine butterfly, and a blakes hitch.

I used to work with a lot of guys that didn't use any adjuster at all. Just a wire core flipline with a pretzel knot. Old school but actually worked pretty well.

Dang that’s good stuff. I thought I was smart and stuff with the ratchet strap. Off to YouTube...
