Cavalier elite with cordovan face. Been shooting the same tab and face for 10-12 years!

I may not be describing this properly because I just switched to trad earlier this year. But I had problems getting my "hooks" with a glove. I could make it work but there was a lot of arrows coming off of the shelf. With the tab I seem to get a smoother release and the "hook" rotates the string to hold the arrow on the shelf. I have a homemade cordovan tab with no spacer. I don't think I'd go back to a glove other than to experiment.
