Remington Model 7600

I've owned one in 30-06 for many years.
Bear lots of deer pigs and elk have gotten too close.
Super fast second shot. Great mount and swing.
I didn't realize they cost that much now.
Enjoy, Rev

I don't gun hunt much anymore but I considered mine a step under a assault rifle! Shot at a buck on a dead run at 20 yards, shot 3 times in about a second. hit him twice and shot over him as he went down. Turned around and snap shot at a doe crossing a logging road at 300 yards up a mountain, laid the cross hair on top of her back and knocked fur off right where I aimed, tracked her to the bottom of the mountain and finished the job, No One in camp believed me until I took them there and paced it off. Trust me I am very confident when I carry that rifle.

Alright guys, I FOUND ONE!

Just bought a BRAND NEW Remington 7600, Monte Carlo Walnut Stock, .308 Win, Black/Blued Finish for only $835.00.

I talked to every private dealer and commercial dealer I could find to no avail. They all said if I can find a N.I.B. .308 for under a grand to buy it. A private dealer in my area is getting $1,200.00-$1,600.00 for them currently in mint or new condition.

I found a website that had ONE in stock and let me tell you, I couldn't get cashed out fast enough. Confirmed all of the FFL details and called both parties to ensure we were complete. Everything is through and ready to rock, gun is being prepared for shipment!

Then ammo... I couldn't get my hands on the Hornady 178gr ELD-X that I wanted, every where is sold out. I found some Remington 180gr SP Core-Lokt's that I'll run for now!

Can't wait to hit the north country to track come November!!!

Any scope recommendations for run-n-gun trackin'? I was thinking something 1-4x20mm or something?

Is it a carbine or full length barrel?

I like a 4x32 or a 3-9x40 or even just a peep sight. The woods are fairly open where I hunt so a 3-9 is ideal. Definitely get the DNZ scope mount.
Full length. I will mainly be tracking in the snow in deep dense fir/evergreen woods. My farthest shot will probably be around 100yds. I would say 1-4x will be enough so any recommendations on a brand in that range?

I decided a full length was more my interest for now, maybe a carbine in the future. I'm not a fan of cutting a factory barrel I'd rather buy a whole second gun. After all, do you ever have enough?

Tell me more about this DNZ mount if you would?!

Definitely go with a 4x32 then. I’m not a fan of the 4x20. The 32mm gathers mor light and wider field of view. The dnz is a one piece mount machined from solid billet. The best on the market and fairly cheap.

The Leupold 1.5 x5 has been a standard go to for all the dog hunters around home on thier 742 or 7400 for years. It’s also a tried and trusted scope on dangerous game rifles from Africa to Alaska.

Sweet rig right there!!!

You won't be disappointed I love mine, it's an older one chambered in 270. Shoots moa with factory loads all day. Being left handed I appreciate it being ambidextrous.

I’ve always wanted one in 35 whelen. I see one every now and then.

I could have bought a .270 but I already own a rem 7400 .270 jam-o-matic. .308 was the only common caliber that wasn't already in my cabinet, so naturally it was my choice. I like to have a well rounded selection to chose from given what kind of hunting I am doing at the time.

@EricS There are some on gunbroker.com and up here the .35 Whelen is going for about $750. I could have bought a new one the other day but didn't want synthetic and was talked away from the Whelen when discussing my intended use.

The .30-06's seem to be a dime a dozen right now though. Usually going for around $500-$600 online and in store, used.

My buddy just called last week. He is a gunsmith and often has people help sell some guns. He has a “New in the box” 7600 with an unmounted scope and the original receipt for $450.00
