Rescue Knife

A small neck knife worn on neck or girth hitched to molle loop on your saddle or you can get one that has a clip you can clip to boot or molle on saddles or you can rig one like this to fit any where you can easily reach it 1DFE8596-EA57-45D7-A58F-B2B5B35FCD18.jpeg

This and it also can be used as a gut hook.

Benchmade Hook 7 is my go to rescue knife. Easily cuts through anything we would be using in one pull, regardless if it is under tension or not. Stays in its holster even when inverted, and easily operated with either hand.

Both of these are excellent options. I own a couple of both between work and my vehicle first aid kits. The Benchmade is nicer, but costs more. You can get the Gerber for under $20 shipped on eBay. Both have molle compatible sheaths.

I use the same knife as on my whitewater PFD. Rigid sheath and attaches easily to any webbing. Dull point and serrated a big finger hole to get it out easily at any angle.

Havalon knife is the definiton of sharp. Great choice for a rescue knife, sharp, light, at hand.
My havalon is new so I don't have much experience with it yet. I'd be more comfortable with a thicker, more durable, serrated blade for self-rescue. Maybe I have to pry something apart. I saw a lot of the Myerchin rigger's knives when I was in the Coast Guard and like how they handled heavy lines. Not as much experience with dive knives, but I like how the sheaths are made to attach to basically anything.

Does this come with a sheath. I like the looks of this. I do not like a sharp post on my resume knife.

I’m running this Spyderco Rescue Jr. Large thumb hole for easy one handed opening

It does come with a sheath that can be lashed on or, in my case, zip tied to the webbing or molle loops.
