So I just don't have confidence in myself for get the tetherd strap tight enough even after camming down. I got out the old hyper threader and sewn some ratchet straps. The tests have been great but does anyone know of over the counter ratchet straps that come like this?

I’m not knocking your sewing, but honestly I would practice camming the platform over with the supplied strap before trusting a homemade ratchet strap but that’s just me. If you need any help learning how to cam it over so it’s rock solid I’d be glad to help!

What he said. I’ve cammed my predator and predator XL over 100s of times now and haven’t had an issue getting it to bite into trees.

Tighten strap with platform up, push down with your hands on platform, re tighten if needed, cam over, get on. If it’s still a little loose at the stand-off when you get on, once your weight is on your tether, lift the base up slightly with foot while keeping one foot on the top of post, apply downward pressure to that point and then, with other foot cam platform back down. It shouldn’t move at this point.

Seems like a lot of people try to fix something that isn’t broken.

Thanks guys! I have been practicing camming more, I think it's just something familiar from ROS hunting. I am so I also prob needed some reassurance as I'm still a newbie. I'm in Nashville and could use all the tips and tricks anyone wants to give!

I think most do once you cut the metal hook off. Listen to the guys above, the Tethrd strap is pretty easy to get cammed super tight. I've had to step up onto the post then down onto the platform (while tethered in) on a couple spongy barked trees but it was no big deal.

Sooo, since nobody above has answered your question, yes, there is something sold like what you originally posted and asked about. It is called a ratchet strap with loop ends.

That being said, the above posters have some good advice: using the stock strap, with the platform in the up position, tighten the strap, cam the platform over, and it should be good to go. Really no need for a ratchet strap, but if that’s the direction you want to go, then it is called a ratchet strap with loop ends. (You also shared that you are relatively new to this....some good posts above!)
