Rest/Plunger Combo

Another old trick is to get a 22. Caliber shell casing and fill it with strands of mono filiment and drill a hole into riser and glue in at a 45 degree angle and shoot off that and that will bring you past center as the mono is just holding shaft on bow and allows clearance for feather to pass thru

My old greater than center cut bow I could shoot any spine that was stiff enough. So say 400 would be the perfect spine then I could still shoot 340 and 300 no problem.

I'm curious about this statement. Do you mean you could shoot Fletched arrows with field points and they would fly okay? Or you were adjusting point weight/length to get the different spines to tune? A lot of times fletched field points of various spines will fly okay out of a bow but when you put a broadhead on incorrect spine shows up pretty quickly.

It was basically a compound bow riser. I never hunted with it so my experience would be with field points only for that bow. It would shoot all my compound bow arrows effortlessly.

Sounds like a warf riser and a lot of those compound risers were cut way past center so theoretically you could shoot just about any arrow out of it but for accuracy at longer range it could be tricky those risers were made for a springy rest I felt. Had a few of them back in the day and set them up to shoot all springy rest. Had one set up that was around 80# that would shoot 2219 like a dart literally A real flat shooting limb and those limbs stacked hard a lot of weight build up the last couple inches

So Gents, my birthday present to me this year will be a Satori (19 in riser) with medium limbs (47# with19 inch riser). And no, Red Beard I'm not selling the Gamemaster! The Satori is Wilderness green riser with Kuiu Verde limbs.
I love shooting my Gamemaster 2 with elevated rest and plunger. The rest is the AT 300 hunter and the plunger I can't identify. So I'm gonna do the same with the Satori.

This is a shotgun blast to yall for any better plunger/rest ideas. I think youtube has tuning videos, i just havent looked yet. Oh and quiver ideas as well if you have them.

Thanks in advance.

@JSEXTON23 got me to put a Shibuya DX plunger and a Spigarelli rest on my Morrison a while ago and I LOVE THEM.

I probably have a shibuya dx plunger and aae elite rest I could let go of for a nominal fee

Eliminate all that and get a ol school weather rest LOL. I have a ton of set ups with rest and plungers and I never really like the plunger sticking out the back side but that’s me granted I got couple set ups like that but lately I been gravitating towards the bear rest and springy rest for a bomb proof and quiet rest that I can shoot feathers and vanes at any time but another option that I do use on a set up is a AAE hunters rest with a shorty plunger that is very quiet but then again it still sticks out but it works if that sorta thing doesn’t bother you

Not sure I understand your question. Yes, I can shoot vanes or feathers off this springy. However, the springy is a true elevated rest (not shooting off the shelf anymore).

@Redbeard, Did you use the housing, or just the springy? Reason I ask is I tried to screw the housing into the threaded hole on my Satori riser and the hole was too small for the housing. Maybe a better question is, is there a really detailed youtube on how to install a springy? I have looked and can't find one.

Shelf with a simple layer (leather, Velcro, or whatever) works pretty good too.

I'm becoming more tempted to go that route. I hunt, I don't target shoot. Not sure all this effort really helps hunting when the vitals cover roughly 13 inches across...lol. But, I continue to tinker with it.

Not sure exactly what you mean by housing. I used the complete package just as it came; shaft, springy rest, lock nut, and screw that holds the springy to the shaft.

The shaft. It will screw into the riser about 3 turns and that's it. It had no instructions with it, heck I may be putting it in bassackwards...
