So I decided to get back into filming and revive my Youtube channel. "Obsessed with the Outdoors"
I purchased a Sony AX53 and a Sony Action Cam, 4th arrow camera arm, tripod and all accessories.

I have already laid down quite a bit of footage, but i was waiting to get a new computer that would handle the video editing software.
I finally got the computer last weekend so I released my Trail Camera setup vid for this year on some public ground in Texas.
I ran into a 5-6 foot Texas Rat Snake that was hanging out in a tree that I was trying to hang a camera in lol.

I will be posting a follow up video checking the trail camera footage/pictures and coming up with a game plan for the season.

I will check your channel out tonight. I filmed for most of a decade and took last year off to just hunt. I needed a break from it as it was getting to feel more like work to me. I am planning on getting back into it some this year myself since my son is now old enough to go with me. When I filmed I was always in a tree stand and filming out of a saddle may take some getting used to. Good luck this season. Here is the link to my channel.

It's called Budget Bucks Outdoors if the link doesn't work.

I'll check it out. I went ahead and subbed. Yea if you look at my channel you will see that 3 years ago I stopped filming as well. Same thing. Felt like too much work. Im actually working on a video where i kinda explain all that but if you look at the buck in my profile pic...i stopped filming because i got mad at myself for shooting that buck even knowing that i didnt get it on film. At the time it was my first PnY and it was on a DIY out of state hunt where i scouted, did a hang and hunt and killed him first evening. At the time was my biggest buck ever too, regardless of weapon. Yet, i was mad that i didnt film it. Thats when i decided to take a step back. Sold all my gear. But i miss creating content. I like to capture my memories and be able to show my friends and family as well as watch them myself and relive them. Good Luck this season. Ill be following along and hope to see some new vids!

I hear you man...I felt exactly the same way. Editing can be fun though and it is nice to be able to look back and relive your old hunts. The best thing about filming to me is being able to see where your shot went and if you made a good hit or not. That's a nice buck you got on that out of state hunt. I have personally set a rule for myself that the hunt comes first and the video second. If I don't get the shot on film but I harvest the deer I can always film the recovery. I lost a lot of big deer over the years because I wouldn't shoot because I couldn't get the shot on film.

Yea the guys at THP kinda helped me get back into filming. They kinda broke the mold on the traditional hunting shows. I always thought everything had to be high production value and edited perfectly, so it was a lot of work during editing. Now im just going to focus on quality content and try to capture it the best way possible but not stress too much if its not super polished.
