Ridge Runner

Could be - just see it a lot in the many videos. Like i said, it may not be a problem, esp if you never leave the platform..
I believe it works on the same principle as the WEI steps. Lift above the rope before camming to get a firm grip on the tree. If you don't lift the steps above the rope, they're very difficult to get crammed and then won't to kick out away from the tree at the bottom.

Any mods you guys already have in mind?

Mine came in this morning. I already started to do an easy wrap in paracord. The finish is rough and I wanted to cut down on it so that it doesn't snag my backpack. I love it so far and I haven't even hung it in a tree! The grip from that rough finish(maybe bedliner) is going to be fantastic when applying side pressure. If the paracord is a problem, I can easily remove it.

I would think a wet muddy paracord wrap would get slippery quick...

as you can see, it’s a pretty basic cross-cross. The grooves are deep enough that the paracord fits down in there

I've seen others use paracord and I've always thought the same thing. Rope usually gets slippery, to some degree, when wet. Let us know how it works. Mine will be here tomorrow. Can't wait!

The grooves are for traction. I'm thinking that filling them with paracord is going to lessen it. I may be wrong. Have you had it on a tree yet? How does it feels under your feet? Spray it good with the water hose and then climb around on it. Let us know how it goes!

If you look, you can see that there is still room in the grooves even with the paracord. I quickly set it up in the tree and with my bald tennis shoes it was still gripping. I might get it up in the tree tomorrow morning for a quick hunt and will report back

I imagined you were talking about a full wrap like a lot of folk do with DIY stands, which I would never do personally. I saw your picture and it looks nice, I personally just don't' see any benefit in doing any sort of wrap on mine.

RR is solid. Perfect size IMO. I liked my predator a little more and sold the ridge runner. Eying the LWCG ambush....lol

I actually still prefer a ROS. Seems easier for me to maneuver.

Not too excited to see these posts of waiting a few weeks. I chose the Ridge Runner partly because it said in stock.

They apparently never order enough materials to do anymore than a weeks worth of orders. Doesn't make sense but what can you do.

I just think the predator would be too small for my size 13 boot. And that corner when you're standing on the side... can you imagine that ever going through your shin lol..ouch.

My boots are also size 13. Early season it’s fine but when I break out the heavier boots it’s rather tight.

I traded a brand new set of Heliums to a guy that had stealth stripped all 8 of the steps. Never again. Removing that sticky mess made me want to remove someone's head lol.

Seems like they shouldn't advertise as "in stock" if they aren't ready to ship.
