I was digging in the garage and realized I have a rock climbing harness, a lineman’s rope, and a tree strap/tether. Could I possibly use this set up? If so, what else would I need to get started and give saddle hunting a shot. Also, if it works out I’m looking at the mantis starter kit with a platform.

yes, you could buy a sit drag and some pouches off amazon, @g2outdoors has a very thorough video on his old sitdrag setup, all you really need other than that is a climbing method, platform, and some way to hold your pack, accessories and weapon at hunting height.

I have 4 LW sticks I use for my hang on along with my pack and e-z hangers for my bow and pack. I’m thinking a platform or steps to put my feet on.

If you want premium, go with the predator platform, wild edge perch, ridge runner, or podium. For budget options you can go plywood and primal tree step, doublestep stick platform or DIY a platform altogether

I would seriously look at fabbing up a fleece saddle & find some Wild Edge Stepps in the Classifieds—always some for sale. You could try a Ring Of Stepps to start while you wait for your Predator to ship. You’ll be GTG for minimal scratch! Good luck!
