Rock Climbing treestand harness

I your lineman’s belt is girth hitches could that not be your suspension relief strap? I’d that and try to get ahold of a stick.

Solid idea. I like that

What would you recommend? I have a Big Game harness which the LB are too low. I've also used a saddle which I enjoyed for comfort/function but of course safety issue and I believe I had an increase wear issue. HHS harness? One of the new hybrid/RC harness?
Hss ultra lite is all I use

I have been using a Petzl RCH for years and like the safety it provides me. I did add linesman loops to it to facilitate setting sticks/stand. I started just using my tether as I went up but like the LB much better. I like laying my stick across the LB to prep it for hanging. At height I have a 70cm Beal Dynaglide attached up front and it rides under my right arm to my tether. When I sit in my stand the tether is snug so I can not fall father than my seat. If I do fall I will automaticly be turned facing the tree and can easily get back on the stand, onto a stick or use my extra daisy chain to self rescue. I never felt comfortable with the idea of hanging by a strap behind my head that I could not reach.

I’m not sure what they are rated to but the petzl falcon has rated loops but they are small. Super comfy harness but a little bulky for hunting purposes.

I agree, I ran a RCH for years back when I used a climber. It’s not hard to keep your tether snug and out the way just underneath your arm.

I used to climb cell towers for work and we trained on being rescued from height. Go hang from a body harness for more than a minute and tell me how it feels, and we had some of the best harnesses they made. I’d take my chances with getting banged up against the tree in a RCH over the circulation in my legs being cut off from a body harness.
