need some advice, I found this very very fresh rubline along a ridge top. I m guessing it was done last night. Probably 20-25 scrapes in total. I’m guessing it’s laid down at night. Given the topography how would y’all hunt this? Found the sign just need to dial it in. 6C32F211-9408-4C35-83AD-0A63610DEA27.jpeg

Given you have a marked line of travel, where are the features that will pinch that deer to a more specific spot. It looks like there are multiple saddles on that ridge. Are there any vegetative edges such as thicket lines that would work in conjunction with terrain features? The other big consideration would be access. What portion of that sign and which features on that ridge allow the cleanest access? One other thing is where are bedding areas in relation to this area and line of travel? Answers to those questions may help you narrow down the how and where you hunt the area and when.

I think @BTaylor nailed. There’s a ton of small influences that effect it.

To simplify tho, I would hunt on the leeward upper 1/3 where a drainage pinches up and funnels deer movement. I’ve had good success with similar setups

I would try to figure out what direction the deer are coming from and see if bedding site near by. This will help determine the time of day to set up and then try to find a pass or some obstacles they have to go around. Is there any ledge outcropping on top of the hill or stand alone oak trees? I have a spot with a mountain pass thru some ledge and works as a perfect funnel.
