Has anyone hunted with a child that young or of a saddle. My son is itching to get a saddle hunt on with his old man.

My only concern would be the saddle properly fitting him to hold him properly. If it does I don't see why not. Kids go on all kinds of stands all the time. Or custom making a saddle that fits him and having him double tied off at all times!

Message Jamie Cline. He built my Boy one. I gave him his waist size and a few more specs. Waist adjust both ways. Easy ghook leg straps and a fixed webbing bridge. He loves it. Also has room to grow in it. Its basically a small size 1 saddle.

JCLINE84 is Jamie’s name on here. He might be pretty busy with his Overwatch Transformer saddle launch now though!

Kids rock climbing harness and a fleece saddle. My local Wal-Mart has a giant bin of cheap fleece throws for $2.50 and you could easily make 2 kid-sized saddle seats out of one.

I was flirting with the idea of making kids saddles but ran into a roadblock with product liability insurance. I made a few for friends on here to try out but I don’t know if it will ever be a commercially available saddle.

no matter how safe a product is you take your life into your own hands the second you leave the grownd .it takes only one mistak .when it comes to individuals or insurance companys .you add children and no one wants to touch it.we know there is no safer way to hunt from elivation but its that one mistake

I have a kids rock climbing harness that I was going to get my nieces using last summer but then Covid hit. Maybe this year.

I think my kids hunted on the ground until they were 12 and 14. And then my wife threaten me with death if I let anything happen to her babies! So I spent months researching the safest way to get them in the tree. Good luck, but there’s no way I’d put a seven-year-old up in a tree.

I'd have them climb with the tether and lineman's belt both in use.
