Saddle hunters support thread.

Added the jet stream muff this year. Never been so excited to try out a glove type product.
No idea how the Jetstream muff compares to their old Incinerator muff, but the Incinerator was by far the warmest muff on the market. Not even close

I've started down a path. A dark and winding path. I'm lost in all the different decisions to make. I am on a quest. A quest to find.....

The Perfect Saddle Hunting Backpack!

Ohhh the options! The capacities! The pockets! The colors! The attachments!

All I know is I'm not happy with what I currently have, and I've already spent money trying to resolve that, and still not satisfied, so just spent more money on a used Kuiu Venture 2300.

I'm really liking Kifaru options, but $$$$$$$.

When You Get The Perfect One Would You Let Me Know So I Can Order It??

I had a venture 2300 and it is truly an awesome pack. However it wasn’t exactly what I really wanted for stand/saddle hunting.

One of the biggest things I struggle with in the field is trying to get the bag to situate the way I want or stay open, or not flop too far open. Decided to try the Trophyline Palisade Eva. I’ve taken it out once and already I think it is exactly what I was looking for. It’s almost like a hunting bucket for your back. So easy to take things in and out with ease. The rigidity of the thing is awesome. Free stands well when setting it down on the ground to get something you need out. Lots of ways to strap things onto it, whether sticks, parka/bibs, platform, anything you want.

If this is anything you’re looking for in a pack, I would definitely consider taking a look at the Palisade.

Well, the Bog Helix 3500 arrived and is a fail. I was excited for it as it checked alot of boxes. But, partly due to my ignorance and partly due to the misrepresentation on Amazon, it's not going to work. The pictures show it with straps and waistbelt, and it arrived without. I knew it was "frame compatible" but didn't know it was "frame required". So it's going back.

So now waiting on the kuiu venture 2300 to arrive, and just picked up a kuiu venture divide 3000 on AT classifieds as well.

I'm determined to nail this down! Lol

Man I can't remember the last time I wore a backpack.i like the less is more approach. Some empty backpacks are as heavy as my entire saddle setupe....rubber boots alone are as heavy as my setup.my clothing is heavyer than my gear.something is not right.things need to get quieter ,softer, and liter.aside from arrows and broadheads the market has nothing for me.i would love to spend money but can't find a product worth it.

I really wish I hadn't just added up what I spent this year.
After you win a few raffles at Flaooza this year, you can sell off some of the old gear to make your money back
If you think you’ve spent a lot, you should search products posts by @enkriss
I am pretty sure he’s owned nearly every piece of saddle equipment out there at one point of time or another

That would be short-lived.

Product A: "This sucks. I'm selling it."
Product B: "This sucks. I'm selling it."
Product C: "This sucks. I'm selling it."
Product D: "This sucks. I'm selling it."

If it makes you feel any better, since December I've ordered 6 or 7 different backpacks/lumbar pack systems. I've only sold off one of them lol.

Lol, I'm new to the saddle/lightweight game, so I'm working through figuring out what I like and how I'll use it, so I haven't been shy about spending money. I have caught some good used deals, but went new on some stuff that I know will be just fine for me based on the abundant amount of information here.

New
-JX3 with headrest, stick and top rail.
-ESS saddle on the $99 sale.
-Rappel kit from EWO with madrock
-Kong Duck
-CGM 2tc footloop
-3 hawk 30" sticks at $80 sale
-Trophyline Onxy and backband (hit the free shipping mark with the backband)
-6 OCB straps/buckles from EWO

Used
-4 Novix(labeled Lonewolf) 32" single step sticks and a millenium m60u $250 off FB marketplace
-Variety of squirrel steps from a couple members here, forget what I spent
-Sladder $150 on marketplace.

I have a feeling I'll hold on to most of it, as I've found applications for about all of it and have loaned it out to guys I hunt with for various applications. Don't think I have much more on the list. I do need a decent pack system.

Need to give the 2tc more practice and effort for run and gunning. Sticks are great for planned hunts but I could do without the weight and hassle for sure. If I can't make it work, I reckon I'll check out the one stick game with the jx3 stick and see how I like it. I am still pretty unsure about the sladder.

My favorite hoody, the Kings XKG Covert was on Camofire today for 50% off. I needed three more of them, right??

Man I kinda wish I never found camofire lol. They've helped me spend a bunch.

By the way, if I ever make a thread that just says "Banana!" , it means my wife has found the forum and I need all my posts scrubbed out of this thread lmao.
