Saddle hunting is lame

Lol we all can poke fun at that thing but if you can sit in it and kill deer it's good in my book!

We have a couple guys in our club that have elevated box blinds made from old porta potties, I was no good the 1st time I saw em! Supposed to be hunting and i couldn't stop belly laughing.

Did you lean or sit in those?

So a legitimate question for these. If you are in one and your tether is hooked to the corner post so you are sitting/leaning in your saddle instead of a chair does your harvest count in the contest? Doesn't say it had to be up in a tree, just in a saddle. Would seem to be same in saddle on ground level tree hookup too. We have several boxes on our food plots and they are a guaranteed doe for points if so.

Or!!! Hook up 8 reindeer. Tie em up in the field as decoys.

I hunt in my saddle at ground level all the time. Never thought about hooking up in a box blind though...

You just have to be in a saddle. Hook up? What’s that?

This reminds me about a couple that hunted together all the time in a club I was in. Together as in same box blind or even the same tree with 2 climbers. They may have gotten really creative if saddles were a thing back then. If the box is a rockin', don't come knockin'! To her credit, she was always the one killing deer.

This is just for show. To preorder send $2000.00 and be prepared to wait 12 weeks or maybe 14 or?

I was chuckling along with the rest and then it occurred to me that there is definitely something positive to be said for the portable box blind. I have a very close hunting buddy who turned 81 this year. Just last year we quit putting up his ladder stand and relegated him to a pop up blind for bow season. He still gets around really good for his age but man, I'd hate to fall at my age let alone his.

Anyway, his heated box blind is maybe the only thing that keeps him hunting during the rifle season up here. Mighty cold in late November for an 81 year guy.

Edit: Here's his deer from last year.

I knew an fella who was at one time had the world's longest functioning pacemaker. He had it done when it was still in the clinical trial phase and I guess it just kept on tickin'. Needless to say he was an older fella. A farmer.

He hunted religiously from box blinds on the edges of food plots. He would ride his buggy right up to them and step inside. He would call one of his kids or grandkids to help him if he shot something.

He killed about as many deer as anyone. He wasn't a run and gunner, but he was like a spider sitting in his web. Eventually, that deer would mess up.

I hope to live long enough to be hunting in a box blind.

Hey that's not bad! I bet if you strapped a winch to the front of that you could get up in the tree pretty quick! I'm going to call it the heretic method.

They make these with hydraulics that once to the location, will raise it up to hunting height. Expensive though!

perfect cover. just have the wife drive around the dark florida roads with the headbeams on high..at least your not shining from your truck, right?
