Scouted this spot spring on 2017 and it was obvious there are a lot of bucks bedding here. There were just no trees for a traditional treestands. Two years of unsuccessful attempts with stands and I knew to hunt here successfully I needed something different. Two hunts in this spot with a saddle and bang a decent 3.5 year Michigan public land buck. Many thanks to all on this site for all your help. No way I could have got up to speed so quickly without this site. Thanks again.

Congrats! I do love how a saddle allows you to hunt pretty much any tree.

Very nice buck. Congrats.

One of my favorite parts of saddle hunting is the opportunity it gives to hunt less than ideal trees. Especially when you're addicted enough to be proficient at 8 different climbing methods.
