I am heading to Fort Stewart this morning. My Comms will be limited until I am set up at the campsite. I hope to be heading to Altamaha on Thursday morning, but if it is under water will stay at Stewart. Feel free to stop by.

If the campground is flooded, I'll have to refund everyone's money. There won't be time to get a new food provider. New guys also won't have time to register their weapons on Fort Stewart. Plus I'm not allowed to rent the campground anymore.

Let's hope the weather straightens out.

If you have your weapons registered and can find a way to get into the campground, or if you don't mind driving about 30-40 minutes to a civilian campground, Stewart is a great option. The flooding should have the pigs in really hunt able locations. Plus the weather is LOOKING PERFECT for the hunt.

Is there a motel/hotel nearby. And doesn’t the email have it’s own campground?

There's tons of public land in the area. Stewart and the Altamaha region are the best known areas for pigs.

Just spoke to the personnel on the Stewart base. If you've never hunted there before it's a minimum of 4 business days to get your weapons registered. The lady I spoke to said unless we're hunting with bow which doesn't require registration. @g2outdoors I'm assuming if the terrain is anything like Florida, spot and stalk with bow won't work well there am I right?

Check out this link and read towards the bottom. The river is at 14' right now and the camp is seeing some minor flooding in the outlying areas.

The forecast is for the river to continue to rise...not good.

At 15 foot - In Glynn County, the majority of Altamaha Regional Park becomes inundated, including water flowing across sections of Altamaha Park Road and Pennick Road. The Altamaha Regional Park is subject to closure at this level. Homes in the vicinity of the park are cut off by flood waters at this level, but elevated structures are not flooded. In McIntosh County, much of Barrington Park is underwater. Plum Orchard Road begins to flood.

At 14 foot - Portions of Altamaha Regional Park become inundated, including the park campground, boat ramps and parking lots. Bee Tree Island Road is flooded and closed. The end of Betty Lott Lane is flooded and homes become cut off.

Ok just got off the phone with Sarah at fort smith. She said there is plenty on primitive campground sites available. I asked specifically about availability for 50 campers she said yes. Greg, I know you got a lot on your plate but both she and Monica said that have helped you out before. Perhaps you could contact them. They will be there till around 1415hrs. Then back again in the morning.

As for firearms I know I registered several last year and could loan some out if need be. There were a lot of other people who had registered multiple firearms too. Oh and just to mention you would need to renew or purchase a Isportsman license. It's cheap and can be done on line.
