Saturday afternoon is the demo day. This is your chance to learn about all things saddle hunting. Climbing methods, platforms, ropes, saddles...EVERYTHING. Brand doesn't matter. This is intended to help guys learn about saddle hunting. This is 100% FREE. However, if you want lunch, you'll need to bring $10. That's it.

For people who are planning on coming but didn't register are there other primitive sites available at that location or did you reserve the whole thing? Should we start looking for alternative spots. I really wasnt coming for t-shirts or Cornhole but would like to meet some people and hog hunt. I'm planning on driving up Friday after work.

I was just about to ask this glad to know!

Just a warning the bath house isn't the cleanest by no means and the water is high in sulfur been staying there this past deer season and will be cleaning it up before next year

Well I signed myself up for SADDLEPALOOZA 2020 but I have to be honest, I’m a bit nervous about going. Being from Michigan I have never camped in the South, I have never hunted for pigs, and I don’t know any other saddle hunters that will be there. I met @Dan-O briefly a couple times for some shady cash-for-gear deals but, really, who hasn’t?

But what has me the most concerned is whether @g2outdoors will be rocking that molestache I’ve seen in some of his videos. Yikes! Don’t get me wrong, I am a big Double-G fan. Love the energy and the positivity. He and Mr. DIY Outdoors were the biggest influences on me getting into saddle hunting. But come on, man. When that stache showed up for the Michigan Public Land Challenge I got a pre-emptive Amber Alert on my phone.

If it's cold.... You'll be colder than you are at home and it it's hot it'll be hotter than you are at home..... Hope that helps

Year one I think seven or eight guys showed up. Year two and three were huge. Most hadn’t met each other before. Hunting camps are easy. Everyone there share a common love for the outdoors.

Would love to be there, Im moving to the Townsend area here at the end of FEB but wont be there this year. Hope to attend next year for sure.

This is my first time going to the event, hunting hogs, and entering the swamp. I feel the same as you... a little intimidating.

@TreeMunkie
@Jed33
Being a bit nervous is a good thing. It will keep you on your toes. I've grown up in the dirty south (FloGrown) as they would say. I have hunted hogs my whole life. It's no joke. I have seen dudes get hurt that where over confident. As far as camping goes, weather in the southeast is very unpredictable. Late Feb could be 92° or 22° , pack for both. See ya there.

Me too. We shot some hogs But only because they got into the way of the deers.

Saddle up. How hard can it be to hangout with this group of crazy dudes?

The weather can change day by day down south February some years will be cold but the last several have been warmer than normal! Pig will be around water if it's hot and if the river is up they will be pushed up a little more on high ground ( in the pines ) pigs are always moving they dont have a home area they travel best thing to do is walk walk walk and walk some more unless you find very fresh sign of them rooting up the ground and fresh droppings. Also please shoot all the squirrels you can

Anybody have any luck putting down hogs with .22LR? Not having much luck tracking down a .22 Mag, I normally use my 30-06 and put them down where they stand. The alternative would be bring my bow but stalking with bow in the swamp doesn't sound realistic.
