Saddlepalooza 2021

Sent Greg an Email. Really hope this happens. Not to mention having the Tethrd group at SaddlePalooza is huge. /// QUESTION.. I think last year there was someone other than Greg that secured the Camping area. Anyone know who that was?

I thought awhile back Greg said something that since he wasn’t in the military anymore he couldn’t book a place or something anymore.

Anyone, military or civilian can get a campsite...I think it was @ecotanker

Yea Greg retired.. That's why someone else, still active, was involved with securing the campground.
Yes anyone can get a campsite, the beauty of it was Greg used to secure basically the entire Primitive campground instead of just one site at a time by each individual person. He would collect the money in advance and take care of your camping fees plus arrange for meals. Truly a monumental undertaking, cant blame anyone for wanting to distance themselves from that.
When I spoke with the Staff at the campground last year, I think they told me even retired military could secure the area. Worst case reserving the campsites would fall on each person that attended. I tried calling Fort Stewart this morning, there not open till 11 or at least that's what the recording said. Going to call back then.

Ok so I spoke with staff. Monica is the one who usually helps coordinate this event, camp sites that is. She wasn’t working today but is supposed to get with me by Tuesday. Need to get a total of people who want to attend. I have no idea how to make the sign up page. Surely one of you saddle hunters is tech savvy. At this point there is plenty of room. She just asked if I could get a ball park on the number of people attending.

Yes sign up sheet. Usually Greg would cap it 75-100. I’m in and can’t wait to go.

So you do have a sign in sheet ready or no. And I don't think we will have 75 this year the way it is looking

Never heard from Monica. I will call her today and tell her there's about 10 to 15. Really need a sign up form. Guess I could put my number out there and people text me directly. To hard to keep up with random posts.

Ok reserved sites 16,17,18,19. Campsites are $15 for civilians and $7 for active or retired military. This is a per night fee. Each person will be responsible for paying for their perspective site. Monica said each site would accommodate two tents. Hopefully there will be more responding. I have an old sign up sheet with a lot of phone numbers. planning on calling everyone. PLEASE NOTE : Everyone one attending will need an ISportsman account in order to camp and/or hunt. If hunting you will also need a Georgia hunting license. You must also have a copy of your hunters safety cert.( found that out last year when checked). Also all firearms must be registered with the base. For more info google "Holbrook Pond Recreation And Campground" Address: GA-144, Fort Stewart, GA 31314 Phone: (912) 435-8213
