So, I've had this idea for a while and finally built a proof-of-concept. Chunk of scrap leather folded and sewn to fit the remnants of a Robin Hooded shaft, which connects it to the loops on the bottom of the AGC.
Bolted a Safariland QLS plate on it.
Initial impressions: it works fine, but it's very mag-heavy, even with a light on it. I might have to add some weight to the muzzle side to balance it out. If you try this, you might use a larger piece of leather and offset it another 3" or so compared to this version.

I like it. Please post some follow ups. I’ve been thinking about something similar to carry my ruger Blackhawk.

So after using it for a while...

I like it. It doesn't feel unbalanced. The draw stroke is a bit unique, which is to be expected. A fully-loaded WML- equipped G23 is noticeable weight at that location. Your Blackhawk will be fine but heavy. I'm personally going to go the other route and mod this to fit one of my IWBs, which holds a featherweight J-frame. You might experiment with a strap to go around your torso, like the HPG runner's pack.

Well, I found another QLS fork in the parts bin and rigged a couple of straps to hold an IWB holster. Not exactly elegant but it's solid. In the off-season I'll be working on a better solution. I think the holster portion of a shoulder rig would bolt right in.

Also I figured out I could loop my handwarmer strap through my AGC harness. It seems to keep snow and such off my holster(s).
