So there's much info floating around the interwebs about ozone and its effects on rubber, plastics etc. The last thing I want to do is artificially fatigue or weaken my saddle so I went right to the horses mouth and asked Scentlok about the effects of ozone on said materials. Here is their reply in two responses:
Hi Shayne, I received an answer for you . There are some rubbers that are more susceptible to ozone than others. To prevent the degradation of rubber due to ozone, most manufacturers have either added antiozonants to their manufacturing processes, which aid in counteracting the degradation due to ozone, or they are already using a rubber such as neoprene, which is resistant to ozone. The resistance of these rubbers comes from the lack of double bonds making the material up that are able to react with ozone. So if you are worried about spraying ozonated water on your rubber products, don't be.
And:
Shayne,
If the cordora fabric is made with nylon than a long term exposure to ozone could fatigue the nylon in the fabric, but it is similar to what I said before. Because the Nfuse is water infused ozone and you are able to control the amount you spray on the fabric, it should not be a problem!
That seems pretty definitive. Seems like it's safe to use in our saddles.
